So today we tried a mandarin class. I had considered teaching my kids another modern language but many secondaries are teaching mandarin so I thought we would check it out.

So I thought about this, I do know French, being an Mfl teacher im expected to teach two languages, so we would be on different starting points but learning Mandarin would mean doing something new together. Just like the parents with no knowledge of Spanish they can learn in our classes with their little ones, this experience gave me an insight into what it feels like to be a consumer and something else to ponder about which languages we will promote in our house other than Spanish!
