Many of you know that I have been pregnant for what has seemed like a great age but finally my daughter was born last week at home in our birth pool as planned (10lb 2oz). It was a euphoric moment. However this post is not about the birth, it’s about language learning. I have read and heard that I should speak to her in the tongue I am most familiar and I guess that is English but I speak to my other kids in Spanish also but then I remembered that my daughter has been listening to my voice in the womb and knows I speak both languages. It is early days in her journey into Spanish and i am not yet comfortable to speak solely one language as yet but I made a promise and will endeavour to do my best for her as my other children.
